Barker Park on 3rd Street in downtown Troy has lately been a busy hub of activity – there have been political demonstrations, violent altercations, and clashes with the local police along with free hot meals, clothing swaps, and other community-building-oriented gatherings. Now that the weather is cooling and any and all available seating is promptly removed by the city, what’s next for the regulars and organizers centered there? HMM correspondent Ben Seretan speaks with Tasheca Medina, the founder of Equality for Troy, about the park, her organization, and what can be done.
