RISSE update September 2024

Hear about how the Albany-based organization RISSE helps people coming to the Capital Region from 90 different countries, speaking a variety of 50+ first languages, adjust to language and culture in their new home. Daniel Butterworth, Executive Director of the Refugee and Immigrant Support Services of Emmaus, describes the many programs for adults and kids, including a lively after-school program as well as ENL (English as a New Language) classes and discussion groups. RISSE welcomes volunteers, especially as their services expand into Schenectady and into working with the Albany Public Library. For more information, visit www.risse-albany.org.
