Street Peace Project Memorial On Gun Violence In Lansingburgh

On Saturday November 2, the Street Peace Project held an opening at the Fish Market in North Central Troy of an exhibition of street memorials for young people killed by street violence that Deyva Arthur had photographed in her Lansingburgh community. A few weeks ago the Project launched the Beacon, an interactive display where already more than 500 residents have written short messages about the need for peace in the community. We hear from Deyva Arthur; Alison Williams with the Urban Grief program of Trinity Alliance; and from two representatives of SNUG – Jeff Perry and Desmond Wright. With Mark Dunlea for Hudson Mohawk Magazine. DeyvaArthur.com
