DEC Rejects Permits For Saratoga Biochar

The state Department of Environmental Conservation has denied the various air and waste permits for the controversial biochar plant proposal in the Town of Moreau. The company wanted to process up to 15 percent of the biosolids generated in New York without first demonstrating that its process works at scale and is protective of human health and the environment.
