Author Scott Christianson, “The Last Gasp: The Rise and Fall of the American Gas Chamber”
November 4, 2010 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm EDT
In The Last Gasp: The Rise and Fall of the American Gas Chamber (2010), award-winning writer Scott Christianson tells a dreadful story that is full of surprising and provocative new findings, taking us to the dark side of human history in the first full chronicle of the gas chamber in the United States. More than a book about the death penalty, this compelling history ultimately reveals much about America’s values and power structures in the twentieth century. Christianson will be introduced by David Kaczynski, the Executive Director of New Yorkers For Alternatives to the Death Penalty and the brother of the “Unabomber” Theordore Kaczynski.
