The workshop will cover using different camera modes, experimenting with exposure levels and f-stops, getting the most out of diverse lighting conditions, using the flash, and basic rules of thumb for photo compositions. The workshop will be proactive oriented, allowing you to learn new ideas and try them immediately. Each participant should bring a digital camera to learn about and to use in class.

Be The Media! workshops teach multimedia skills to community members in order to develop urgently needed independent local voices. Our goal is to empower the public through independent media making, supplying them with the tools to tell their own stories through different mediums of media including video, radio and journalism.
We are committed to lowering the barriers to access for events at The Sanctuary for Independent Media. For people who are hard of hearing or deaf, blind or low-vision, or whose physical limitations can interfere with a satisfying experience, let us know two weeks in advance so we can make appropriate arrangements.
