Be The Media! Workshop with The Beehive Design Collective: Collaborative Mural Making

Graphics for the Commons: Learn the tools and techniques of collaborative image making with The Beehive Design Collective, masters of the form, exploring the potential for cartoons to communicate global issues in an engaging way.
Join in as we deconstruct the complex and overwhelming issues that are shaping our world, using bio-regionally accurate depictions of animals and insects as metaphors to link cultural and ecological diversity. We want to work with the local neighborhood of North Central Troy, and for community members and networks to connect at The Sanctuary. These artist bees’ mission is to cross-pollinate the grassroots, by creating collaborative, anti-copyright images that can be used as educational and organizing tools.
This workshop will be done in conjunction with a sidewalk bike clinic sponsored by Troy Bike Rescue, and community potluck dinner to celebrate transformative culture for a greener society.
We are committed to lowering the barriers to access for events at The Sanctuary for Independent Media. For people who are hard of hearing or deaf, blind or low-vision, or whose physical limitations can interfere with a satisfying experience, let us know two weeks in advance so we can make appropriate arrangements.
