HMM Community Radio Day
February 3 @ 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm EST
Community Radio Days are opportunities for folks to gather around the importance of community radio. Every month a different Hudson Mohawk Magazine producer leads a discussion or exercise, and anyone is welcome to join. Topics range from how to create grassroots radio, pursuing a story, creating a community, and amplifying lesser heard voices. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer producer or if you just want to be a part of community around the importance of civic journalism, join us!
HMM Community Radio Days take place on the first Monday of each month (unless it’s a holiday), and we serve some light food and beverages. If you are interested in joining the discussion but are remote, please email [email protected] in advance.
Timeline:
4:00-4:30pm: arrive, meet our producers, get some food, settle in
4:30-6:00pm: group discussion (this takes place in our basement in the colder months. If stairs are an accessibility barrier, please be in touch so we can prepare our accessible level)
6:00-7:00pm: sit in on a live airing of HMM
7:07-8:00pm: sit in on our weekly production meeting
We are committed to lowering the barriers to access for events at The Sanctuary for Independent Media. For people who are hard of hearing or deaf, blind or low-vision, or whose physical limitations can interfere with a satisfying experience, let us know two weeks in advance so we can make appropriate arrangements.
