Event Series Event Series: HMM Community Radio Days

HMM Community Radio Day

November 4 @ 4:00 pm 8:00 pm EST

Community Radio Days take place on the first Monday of every month, bringing interested and producing correspondents together to discuss grassroots news, story ideas, share experiences, and create community. Hudson Mohawk Magazine is for everyone. Drop by to see what it’s all about.

November will be focused on getting community support for our sister station WOOA 106.9fm in Albany, run by Green Education Legal Fund. They don’t have the infrastructure to program this station on their own, so we are coming together to collaborate on programing.

Hudson Mohawk Magazine (HMM) is a volunteer-produced, local news hour that provides sanctuary for the discussion of topics affecting our communities. Our program builds community in Troy and the surrounding Capital Region through broad grassroots participation.

4:00pm: Meet folks, get food, check out our space.
4:30pm: Discussion on grassroots radio and volunteer production by one of our seasoned producers.
6:00pm: See a live recording of HMM. Hear the variety of stories on our program in real time, and see how hosts and engineers in action.
7:07pm: Join our weekly programming meeting where producers come together to program the week ahead. Meet our team, and share your ideas for for stories.

Do you like to tell stories? Are you interested in reporting on issues you care about? Do you want to engage with your community? Do you have questions for decision makers? Are you interested in amplifying important issues of social and environmental issues? Do you like sound engineering? If you answered yes to any of these questions, ask about getting involved in Hudson Mohawk Magazine by stopping by or emailing [email protected]
