An investigative reporter working to fuse righteous journalism and innovative storytelling, Azmat Khan’s groundbreaking work has taken her to conflict zones around the world. Khan joins us at The Sanctuary to speak about her groundbreaking investigation into civilian casualties in the anti-ISIS air war in Iraq.

Khan is a Future of War fellow at New America. Her reporting for the PBS series FRONTLINE, America Tonight, Al-Jazeera, and BuzzFeed’s Investigations team has brought her to Egypt, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and other conflict zones. Her work has been awarded the Deadline Club Award for Independent Digital Reporting; the South Asian Journalist Association’s Daniel Pearl Award for Outstanding Reporting on South Asia; a Livingston Award finalist in International Reporting; and shared the Online News Association award for “General Excellence in Online Journalism”; the Gannett Foundation Award for Innovative Investigative Journalism; and an Emmy nomination in New Approaches to Documentary Film.
