Live From Lock One: “Invisible: The Crisis of LGBT Homelessness” with a Musical Performance by S.K.A.T.E.
November 19, 2010 @ 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm EST
Meet award winning photographer Samantha Box for an artist reception of “Invisible: The Crisis of LGBT Youth Homelessness” as we examine the crisis LBGTQ youth face in our society and celebrate reclaiming hip hop with anti-violence, anti-homophobia and anti-sexism messages.
Join youth groups from around the region in a community potluck, info exchange and LGBTQ Human Rights Vigil before this event, and an open discussion afterwards. The evening will feature local music and dance by S.K.A.T.E. (Stop Killing All The Entertainment), six people on a mission to spread knowledge through lyrics to revive the hearts that beat for Hip-Hop. The performances will be recorded and streamed live!
Co-sponsors: In Our Own Voices, Capital District Gay and Lesbian Community Center (CDGLCC), GRL Sorority at University at Albany, the Albany chapter of The Trevor Project, and the National Trevor Project, A Thousand Moms (Capital Region Chapter and NY State).
