“Nostalgia for the Light” with Filmmaker Patricio Guzman

In Nostalgia for the Light (2010) acclaimed Chilean filmmaker Patricio Guzman traveled to the driest place on earth, The Atacama Desert of Chile, for his new film, Nostalgia for the Light. The sky is so translucent astronomers see right to the boundaries of the universe. The harsh heat of the sun keeps intact the human remains of political prisoners “disappeared” by the Chilean army after the U.S.-backed military coup of September 11, 1973.
