HMM 07 – 08 – 2024

On this episode of Hudson Mohawk Magazine, we start off with Mark Dunlea’s report on how residents in Albany’s Sheridan Hollow are calling on Governor Hochul to shut down the state’s power plant in their area. Then, Carol Roberts from Troy Public Library talks with me about some books that may help kids and teens deal with their emotions in difficult times. After that, retired National Weather Service meteorologist Hugh Johson joins us for our weekly look at climate and his weather forecast. No surprise that we’ll discuss heat and hurricanes! Then, in part three of his exploration of the war in the African country of Sudan, Lennox explores the impact of the Sudanese war on women and children. Finally, a Caribbean Festival is coming to Albany, hosted by Columbia County Sanctuary Movement, and we have the scoop. Warning: expect to get hungry!
