HMM 07 – 15 – 2024

In this episode of Hudson Mohawk Magazine:

We start off with Jamaica Miles and Shawn Young discussing the recent shooting in Albany, and also the companies, including Tractor Supply stores, that are dropping social justice efforts in response to right-wing pressure.
Then, Marshall Hildredth talks with Melissa Bromley about efforts to get eyeglasses to millions of people who can’t afford them.
After that, Retired National Weather Service meteorologist Hugh Johson joins us for our weekly look at climate and his weather forecast. Once again we’ll be talking heat!
Later on, Willie Terry brings us part two of his interview with community activist Marylynn Raleigh about the effort to close the Dunn landfill.
We end with a rebroadcast of an interview last year with Stacy Pettigrew of the Radix Ecological Sustainability Center about her research on urban heat.
