Marshall Hildreth
Marshall Hildreth joined The Sanctuary for Independent Media in August of 2023 via the AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers In Service To America) Program as the Volunteer Lifecycle Coordinator. During this year of service at the Sanctuary, Marshall will be aiding in the recruitment of volunteers, ensuring there is a consistent, sustainable, and passionate source of peoplepower.
Prior to Marshall’s VISTA service, they were pursuing a BA in Political Science with a minor in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from Siena College in Loudonville, NY. This pursuit in higher education was spurred by Marshall’s interests in community development, intersectionality, social justice, and mutual aid. These interests were further cultivated and explored by Marshall’s time at Siena College’s Academic Center for Community Engagement (ACE) Office. Through ACE, Marshall participated in Siena’s NExT Program, working with the Center for Law and Justice, as well as a Summer Research Associate for the Refugee Welcome Center, which are both located in Albany, NY.
When Marshall is not involved in academic or professional pursuits, they can be found listening to pop, r&b, rap, or a true-crime podcast. Also, Marshall likes to doodle or write poetry in their free-time. Beyond the above, Marshall describes themselves as a 24-something Gemini who’s a perpetual optimist and who’s favorite color is green. They’re excited to be working with the Sanctuary and look forward to maybe even recruiting you in the future!
