William Morse on RAM
Twenty years ago, Hudson Mohawk Magazine correspondent Steve Pierce was in Port-au-Prince experiencing the Haitian roots music band RAM during their regular gig at the Hotel Oloffson. The band still plays there almost every week, but on November 3 they’ll be appearing at The Sanctuary for Independent Media. In this interview, RAM’s William Morse talks about culture, politics, and the band’s decision to blend Afro-Caribbean music with rock’n’roll to create a bold new sound. www.ramhaiti.com
