On December 24th, 2019, Governor Cuomo vetoed the PBM law, a bill that would have regulated Pharmacy Benefit Managers. The bill passed unanimously in the state assembly and overwhelmingly in the senate, but was opposed by three Fortune 25 companies: CVS Caremark, Optum Rx, and Express Scripts, according to media contact Tom Corsillo. Just before the Governor’s state of the State on Wednesday, HMM correspondent Alexis Goldsmith spoke with independent pharmacist Vincent Chiffy about how PBMs are affecting health care.
