People’s Science #5 – Dr. Jennifer Rico-Varela
Episode 5 of People’s Science features Dr. Jennifer Rico-Varela, a biological engineer. People’s Science interviews researchers and scientists of color from a variety of disciplines about the importance of their work and how systems of inequity have impacted their fields through a lens of social and environmental justice, especially considering the racial justice movement happening today. Dr. Rico-Varela specially sent us this wonderful graduation photo with her grandmother to thank her for connecting her to her roots as an open-minded advocate for education and equity. Hosted by Hudson Mohawk Magazine Producer Erin Blanding for NATURE Lab.
