LaVenia Green Party NY Ballot Status 10’03 News 10-7-2020
Earlier this year Governor Cuomo and legislative Democrats passed a law to try to kill third parties in New York, especially those parties that don’t act as an appendage to the major parties (e.g., Conservative and Working Families). The Green Party will need probably 170,000 votes for President to keep their status as an official party, a very difficult task. And the Democrats have also made it very difficult for independents to run for statewide office, tripling the signature requirement. We talk with Green Party state co-chair Peter LaVenia.
