Forum Examines Systemic Racism in Medicine
The New York Metro Chapter of Physicians for a National Health Program held a virtual forum in January on systemic racism in medicine titled “Unequal Treatment: The Unjust Death of Dr. Susan Moore.” Dr. Susan Moore, a 52-year old Black physician, died on December 20, 2020 in Indiana after recording a video for social media from her hospital bed about receiving racist treatment at the hands of healthcare providers. This is part two in a two-part series about this event and the work to combat medical racism, and features excerpts and highlights from the event.
