HMM 1 – 5-2020
Hello Capital Region! This is the Hudson Mohawk Magazine, broadcasting on WOOC-LP 105.3 FM Troy and WOOS-LP 98.9 FM Schenectady, from the Sanctuary for Independent Media in Troy, NY.
First on the show tonight, we have a segment about the Empire State Trail that opened last week. The 750 mile Trail officially opened through the Hudson and Champlain Valleys to Canada and from Albany to Buffalo along the Erie Canal. HMM’s Mark Dunlea discusses the project with Andy Beers.
Then HMM correspondent Corinne Carey talks with Troy Mayor Patrick Madden about the pandemic, what the city has been through and what’s ahead.
Our December holidays looked quite different this year. Dan Plaat talks with Temple Israel Director Rachael Schertzer about celebrating Hanukkah during a pandemic and how to work with the current situation.
After that, Kim Brown, who has served 25 years of a 40 to life sentence, talks with HMM’s Elizabeth Press about her case for clemency– part of our larger clemency series.
And to close out the show, Water Justice Fellows speak with Ashly Hall of the Fort Berthold Reservation in North Dakota.
And now some headlines…
