HMM 12 – 28 – 22 Holiday Special on Ukraine and Other Peace Issues
For an end-of-year special, Mark Dunlea pulled together five of our weekly peace segments from Hudson Mohawk Magazine.
The first three focus on Ukraine, beginning with an interview with Joe Gerson, president of the Campaign for Peace, Disarmament and Common Security.
Then, we talked with Code Pink Co-Founder Medea Benjamin shortly after a missile in the Ukrainian war ended up killing several people in Poland, prompting fears of an increased intervention by NATO to respond to an attack on a member country.
Next, Mark Dunlea discussed the divisions in the peace movement over Ukraine with Sally Becker.
After that we turn to other peace issues and their relationship to other justice movements. We first hear from Pat Hynes, former Director of the Traprock Peace and Justice Center about why peace activists and others are joining the Poor People’s Campaign.
Finally, we hear about the National Priorities Project about the ever-growing size of the US American military budget and what that means for other key issues.
