Canyon Ryan on Albany Common Councils’ Anti-Homelessness Initiatives
This week, the Albany Common Council is considering two separate initiatives that advocates for the homeless feel add up to a harmful and dangerous policy. The first, an anti-panhandling resolution, is set to be voted on as this show airs on Tuesday, October 3. The other is a law creating new penalties for loitering and littering that will be addressed in committee on October 4. Moses Nagel spoke with Canyon Ryan executive director of United Tenants of Albany about these initiatives and what he believes could be a better approach.
