Climate Groups Push National Grid to Support Clean Renewable Energy Not Fossil Fuels
Wednesday May 31 was a busy day down at the state Capitol. In part one, we cover protests by climate activists at National Grid’s electrification conference at the Renessaine Hotel across from the Capitol. The groups were protesting National Grid for not doing more to transition to clean energy. A top priority for the climate movement is the NY Heat Act, which would direct state agencies like the Public Service Commission to incorporate the new climate law, CLCPA, into their policies. Dinosaurs were part of the performance art. We hear from Mary Finneran, one of the dinosaurs, Pete Looker, one of the corporate lobbyists, climate youth activist and college student Katie Marshall, and Betta Broad of New Yorkers for Clean Power.
