Columbia County Sheriff Turned Detainee Over to I.C.E.

A recent Columbia County Board of Supervisors’ meeting became contentious after an individual being released from the county jail was turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (I.C.E.). Several county supervisors believe the Sheriff is not complying with Columbia County’s formal policy of not working with ICE, which Sheriff Don Krapf stated only applies to its law enforcement division, and not to corrections staff under his command.
