NYS Senate Hearing On Slow Rollout Of Adult Marijuana
On Monday, October 30, several New York State Senate Committtees held an eight-hour-long hearing to get feedback, by invitation only, on problems with the slow rollout of the adult recreational cannabis market. Last month the state opened licensing to big businesses from outside the state as well as existing medical marijuana companies. The change sparked an outcry from social equity applicants. Witnesses also complained about the never ending red tape, which is often new. We hear from four individuals: Allen Gandelman, President of the Cannabis Association of New York; Renee St. Jacques of the NYS Farm Bureau; Moranda Bromley of Hudson Valley Herbals; and Joseph Calderone of the Cannabis Farmer Association.
