Rally to Save Burdett Birth Center

St. Peter’s Health Partners have submitted documentation to the New York State Department of Health outlining their need to close the Burdett Birth Center at Samaritan Hospital. Within days of hearing this news, birth workers and parents organized a rally at the YWCA of the Greater Capital Region in Troy. Hudson Mohawk Magazine correspondent Elizabeth Press was at the rally and produced this piece of highlights from people like Mayor Madden and birth workers to personal stories of why Burdett needs to stay open.

Troy City Council is voting on a resolution to keep Burdett open on Thursday night. It will be delivered to the State Senate, Assembly, and Governor.
