Services for Albany’s “Newest Neighbors”
Hear how Refugee & Immigrant Support Services of Emmaus, Inc. (RISSE) helps adult migrants adjust to life in a new language and culture. Kaira Kristbergs, director of Adult Education, describes the variety of supports provided to help people with the transition in language, job hunting, and more. Her team helps about 250 people a week, from 29 countries, speaking 26 different primary languages. She also notes various ways that volunteers can help in the efforts, and invites folks to stop by their office.
