The Legislation and Legacy of Death Care with David Fleming
David Fleming is widely recognized as a state expert in cemetery regulation and management, having represented cemetery organizations, including many of New York’s largest cemeteries, since 1995. In this interview, he speaks about his experiences as a lobbyist for the death industry and new legislation such as Natural Organic Reduction in New York State. He also shares his perspectives on the importance of cemeteries as cultural and artistic landmarks.
Veronica Maroulis, a student from RPI, is trying to change the cultural taboos around discussing death through a series of interviews with people in the industry to promote a deeper understanding of the topic.
