Uganda’s Anti-LGBTQ Laws
Hear about the harsh anti-LGBTQ+ laws recently passed in Uganda with punishments up to life imprisonment and death, and even jail sentences for those who help LGBTQ+ folks, or just don’t report people for their status. Ellie VonWellsheim from the MoonCatcher Project outlines the laws and announces a fundraiser to help 15 activists escape Uganda. That event will be Tuesday, July 25th, 7-9 pm, in the Old Dutch Church at 272 Wall Street in Kingston, NY. To support the effort, visit www.mooncatcher.org.
