US Supreme Court Rejects Challenge To NY Third Party Ballot Access Law
The U.S. Supreme Court has decided not to hear a challenge by the Green and Libertarian Parties to changes in New York State election laws that makes it virtually impossible for independent third parties to obtain official party status. The new law does maintain ballot status for groups like Working Families and Conservatives that nominate candidates of the major parties for statewide office.
