August 15 Climate Groups Protest Natitonal Grid Rate Hike

National Grid is asking for a 20% increase in gas and a 15% increase in electric rates for its upstate customers. Besides the size of the increase, much of the rate increase will be used to support the company’s continued build-up of fossil fuels. On Thursday August 15 at noon, Citizen Action, 350.org and numerous local climate groups will hold a protest outside of Agency Building 3 on the Empire State Plaza, where the Public Service Commission will be holding its monthly meeting.
