Home Care Attendants Organize Hunger Strike Against 24 – Hour Workdays
Home care attendants, many of them elderly women, held a week-long hunger strike outside of NYC City Hall to protest being required to work 24-hour days for only 13 hours of pay. The Ain’t I A Women Campaign has been pushing for the NYC City Council to pass legislation to stop this abusive work practice after similar legislation has stalled in the state legislature.
