Kids Activities in August

Crafts, free books, Greta the Reading Dog, magic, and more! Hear about lots of activities for kids and youth happening in August at the Troy Public Library’s main branch. Carol Roberts, head of young people’s services, lists lots! On 8/8, join a WMHT “in the jungle” storytime and craft for kids 4-7. Then on T 8/13, kids 5 and up can make a shadow box seascape with support from the Tang Museum. On the 14th, juggler Henry Lappen will perform at the celebration for the end of the summer reading program, open to all. Those who participated in the program can get their rewards; anyone can get a free book & refreshments. No registration required. Carol also outlined the regular activities starting up again, including sessions with Greta the reading dog, teen anime night (8/6), teen anime club (8/28), and stroy-time hours resuming on 9/5. For more details, stop by the main branch at 100 Second St., or visit www.thetroylibrary.org. Produced by Brea Barthel for Hudson Mohawk Magazine.
