LWV Annual Winter Meeting (Guest Speaker – Dr. Jennifer Burns)

On Sunday, January 21, 2024, Hudson Mohawk Magazine Roaming Labor Correspondent Willie Terry attended the League of Women Voters of Rensselaer County Annual Winter Meeting at the Hart-Cluett House in Troy. The guest speaker was Dr. Jennifer Burns, Professor of Africana Studies at the University of Albany. Professor Burns spoke on the history of “African American Suffrage Activism in Troy and Rensselaer County during the 19th and 20th Centuries.” In this labor segment, Willie plays a recorded excerpt from her presentation.
