New York State Parole Justice Press Conference May 2024

The US has about 5% of the world’s population, but nearly 25% of the world’s prison population. There are more than 2.3 million people behind
bars on any given day.

In these final days of NYS’s legislative session, supporters and lawmakers from across the state spoke at a recent press conference at the state capital in favor the passing Parole Justice legislation. Specifically Elder Parole and the Fair and Timely parole Acts.
